The ARCHITECTURE for ZIN: Book #2

The ARCHITECTURE for ZIN: Book #2

As you can see, 3 pages together. The recipe for Icing on the Cake is about 30% longer than ZIN #1. A little more complex, more characters, plenty of plot and sub-plot. 33+ chapters. It’s fun to throw all these ingredients together. Plenty going on.

What can you possibly make with pickled pigs’ feet, an unreadable long lost note, the lurking Mustard Monks, dry rump roast and Poor Mrs. Piddle’s donuts? That’s easy, if you’re Zin. They’re either the perfect ingredients, or a recipe for one hot mess.

In writing Icing on the Cake, the big advantage is that we knew exactly how the book would end beforethe first word went on paper. (And, btw, we know exactly how ZIN Book #3 will end as well.) When you know where you’re going before you start, it sure makes it easier to plant the seeds along the way, knowing they’ll grow into that ending.

See Book #2. Zin is in many tricky positions, both in and out of the kitchen. Jenny grows into this book, the scoundrels are at their worst, and Nacho’s narration weaves it all together into a deliciously wild ending.
